   True to the character of this great wizard in all of the myths, Merlin is counselor, friend,  teacher and father figure to Arthur. After succumbing to Morgana's evil magic and  becoming ensnared in an ancient oak, Merlin is unaware of how much time has passed and what has happened to Arthur, the knights and the dream of Camelot. When finally the Lady of the Lake is able to pierce his prison and reach him, Merlin must set aside feelings of guilt and failure and once again be the great wizard Britain believes him to be.
